Get To Know Perri | Featured Blogger Friday
Happy Friday loves! Thank you for your kind responses on yesterdays post ‘Best Budget Brushes‘, the perfect read if you’re on a hunt for high-quality and purse friendly makeup brushes. Equally, thanks for welcoming me back to YouTube after a hectic but exciting three week break. I tweeted asking for some video ideas and you filled me with inspiration, so I’m excited to start uploading every Sunday again. Would you like to see anything on my channel? Let me know in the comments.
Today I’m thrilled to introduce the ever so lovely Perri from Love, Pez to you. She’s currently on the other side of the world to myself in Melbourne, Australia, but is moving to the UK to study very soon. Can’t promise the whether will be as nice as Oz, Perri! Nevertheless, she fills her spare time with writing blog posts. They’re particularly fashion, beauty and lifestyle related. Basically, you can expect to read a range of topics from her! She enjoys interacting with other bloggers through feature posts, as she loves involving others and being within a community. So, let’s get to know Perri.
Why did you start blogging?
My blog started from inspiration and passion and I’m hoping to inspire you to create your own unique look that you can flaunt or to share with us. Perhaps to fulfil your passions by starting a blog of your own. My blog is to share my love of beauty, makeup and fashion with other lovers of the same interests.
Describe your blog in five words.
Positive creative unique individual & me
What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
In terms of blogging I’ve only recently started my blog as of this year but the idea of people following and wanting to read my blog motivates me to keep creating content. My inspiration came from a lot of research on other blogs. I was getting so much joy from sitting down and reading other bloggers posts that I thought this year would be a great year for me to produce my own.
How do you stay organised?
I stay organised and balanced between my creative side (blogging) and my other busy work life schedule by just getting onto things and getting it done. I set my mind to do things, and I do them. Staying organised with blog posts I like to brainstorm all different ideas and work down a list. I definitely suggest planning ahead and taking notes of all your ideas as I know for myself I can get very side tracked.
What type of posts do you enjoy reading the most?
I love reading anything from lifestyle and travel to beauty and makeup. I’ll read anything really. I will say though catchy headlines and headline photos do catch my attention. I like to look at things so adding photography always makes me click on the post. Make it look pretty!
How often can we expect posts from you?
I’m trying to keep my posts as active as possible. I’m hoping to complete 2-3 a week at this stage. The way I see it is because I’m new to the blogging world I need to keep creating content to gain blogging traffic.
What’s your favourite post to date?
My favourite post is the introduction to my new blog which I’m very excited to share. Feel free to come and say hello!
What have you learnt in your time as a blogger?
It’s not so scary after all!
I thought of starting over a year ago but pushed the idea away and I wish I had started earlier now. Everyone in the blogging community is so gorgeous and lovely and willing to send support. I guess I was more scared about putting myself out there on the internet but it’s given myself more confidence.
What advice would you give to someone starting a blog?
Don’t second guess it, go for it! You have absolutely nothing to loose, because someone out there is going to feel inspired by your content and will want to see more of your work. I would suggest definitely when signing up looking at other blogs to see how you would like to style your blog and what posts you enjoy reading. I found that definitely helped myself.
What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
I love the interactions with other bloggers and people who have similar interests to myself. So many people are bringing their style and rocking it and I love that.
Which country are you from?
Australia! I’m a Melbourne girl, any Melbourne or Australian bloggers for me to check out?
How do you like to spend your weekends?
My perfect weekend would include Friday nights staying in and grabbing take away food. This is really the only time I get to totally chill out, put on Netflix and just simply relax. Saturdays are usually my wine nights where I do enjoy one or a few drinks with my girls and Sunday’s I love to hit a nice cafe for my chai lattes.
What are the top three things on your bucket list?
My number one priority which I’m ticking off this year is a trip to Europe, I’m actually staying over there for 6 months (so far) with placement in London but I’m excited to finally explore.
( If anyone is from the UK I’d love to hear about cool places, and things to do)
The second thing is I really want to go stay in Atlantis resort. Anyone see the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie ‘ Holiday in the Sun’? After that it’s been my childhood dream destination.
Lastly, I’d say an Asia bound. I’ve only ever been to Vietnam but I’d love to go back and explore more with some of my best friends.
What do you do to relax?
It sounds so cliché but I put on every candle, grab my favourite lush bath bomb ‘The sex bomb ;)’ and just lay in the bath like some sort of goddess. Anyone else do that?
Come say hello on my blog loves xx
