Get To Know Emma | Featured Blogger Friday

My patience has been completely tried and tested this week. Very naively, I assumed moving from to a self hosted site would be a simple hop over, how wrong was I. Countless conversations later with the incredibly helpful WordPress Happiness Engineers, here we are. Most of my content has been shifted across and I hope my readers are feeling slightly less confused about the whole redesign and lack of posts this week. Nevertheless, life must go on, as must my Giveaway – make sure you enter if you haven’t already for the chance to win the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette (a goody I don’t really want to have to giveaway!). This Friday we’re getting to know Emma from Earth to Emma. She loves posting lifestyle based pieces which you can expect to see every single Tuesday and Sunday over on her blog.

Why did you start blogging?
There’s actually a story behind this one! So, I love to write and wanted to start a blog for a long time, but put it off for years. Last Autumn, I started to re-watch Ugly Betty. I was up to the episode when Betty starts her own blog. It made me feel extremely motivated so as soon as the episode had ended, I signed up for WordPress…and here we are!

Describe your blog in five words.
Lifestyle, Self-expression, lots of lists!

What helps give you inspiration/motivation?
Reading your wonderful blogs! I get so inspired reading all your posts and without them I wouldn’t have half as much motivation as I do now.

How do you stay organised?
You know when people say the most creative people have the messiest workspace? That’s 100% me. Apart from having the messiest desk on the planet, I stay organized by having posts scheduled in my diary and a separate journal to jot down ideas as they come to me. I take them everywhere with me. The calendar and notes on my phone help, too.

What type of posts do you enjoy reading the most?
I love beauty reviews as they’re so helpful, especially if I’ve been deliberating over the product for a while. List style posts are also one of my favourites, I can’t get enough!

How often can we expect posts from you?
Twice a week: Tuesdays and Sundays.

What’s your favourite post to date?
10 Ways To Improve A Bad Day. I definitely need to start taking more of my own advice, so I often refer back to this.

What have you learnt in your time as a blogger?
I have learnt so much about myself, plus internet tips and tricks along the way. A big thing I’ve learnt is to not worry about what other people think. That was a huge factor in me putting off starting a blog for so long.

What advice would you give to someone starting a blog?
Just do it! If you have doubts, don’t worry. You’ll be glad you took the plunge and started a blog. Everyone in the blogging community is so lovely and supportive.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
It has to be when you’re going about with your daily life and suddenly the best post idea ever hits you. It’s the best feeling.

Which country are you from?
United Kingdom.

How do you like to spend your weekends?
With a good ol’ Netflix binge.

What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Visit LA, visit Alaska, skydive.

What do you do to relax?
I like to curl up on the sofa with a good book and a cup of tea.

Thinking of moving myself but it all seems confusing and scary ! Plus I just reach 1000 followers and afraid I’ll lose them all 😒

    1. admin says:

It was a difficult process – I’m not going to lie! But that was mainly because there was a bug in the WordPress system that was preventing me from moving everything over. So posts, comments and images were missing in odd places. I still haven’t got some back but all my subscribers were transferred really easily because that was done separately. I’d say go for it 😊

      1. Natasha says:

It didn’t happen to me, in fact that was the easiest thing about the process! I contacted the people of WordPress for some help and they completely took over and no charge was made 🙂
