This week has been absolutely jam-packed, it’s been a constant roll of one thing, to another, to another. From planning blog posts & YouTube videos, to attending the largest Wedding Fair in the UK, to general catching-up-with-life duties. With a huge sigh relief, it’s over for a little while now. Amongst the craziness, there was one product that stood out for me – one that I reached for constantly as a good old time saver and purely for convenience. The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is a product that I used to find completely and utterly unnecessary, but now I understand that it’s best used for a quick and easy jobby of removing makeup and cleansing the skin all at once. My favourite type? The one in the fresh green bottle for Combination & Sensitive Skin.

Apply the product to a cotton pad and wipe your face, eye area and lips. No rinsing required. Easy peasy.

Having to wash the day off after a long, busy day is a job that nobody enjoys doing (well, I doubt it). When I want nothing more than to crawl into bed, having to wonder to the bathroom and scrub my face just becomes an annoyance. This Micellar Cleansing Water is a convenient and lazy-way solution, using nothing more than a cotton pad and a glug of product.

So clearly, I have been absolutely loving this product. It’s a shame that so much has gone so quickly. However, I absolutely must credit Garnier for the very generous amount that one of these salon sized bottle holds, 400ml to be exact. I found most other brands only give you around half of what they do. Plus, the bottle claims to have 200 uses worth inside, although I have found this to be slightly less (I can be heavy handed though).

If you suffer with über sensitive skin like myself, I couldn’t recommend this product enough. It’s incredibly gentle and is very effective. It cleanses, removes makeup, soothes skin and hydrates in just one step. My skin is noticeable softer after just one use. The formula isn’t sticky or greasy, and absorbs very quickly. I found that it can even remove the most stubborn of eye makeup too, and it only ever irritates my eyes when I pour too much product onto a single cotton pad.

And what’s more? The price tag is so right. Reviewers on the Boots website give this one 5 stars, so it looks like many of you are already convinced. We never thought we’d see the day when we’d stop washing our face as part of the daily routine but Garnier, you have yourself some wipe-away cleansing water converts!

Have you used this product? What do you think? Have you tried other Micellar waters?

Welcome to the wonderful world of micellar waters! I discovered them a year ago, Garnier and then Bioderma, and I will never go back!

I know! I feel like I’ve been missing out for all this time. They’re such a time saver. X

  2. Amelia Vesper says:

I’ve heard great things about this, I should give it a try! Do you think it would be up to the challenge of waterproof mascara?

You should! It removes my waterproof mascara, but I do find I have to go over the area multiple times to really get rid of it. So many cotton wool pads later it’s gone haha. Bit annoying but it does get rid of it. Xx

  3. I’m using the pink one from Garnier at the moment but definitely I try this one after the product is runout.

    1. Clarina says:

The pink one seems to be the most popular! I was just intrigued when I read that it mattifies because that’s something I always look for, and I love it!

  4. stashmatters says:

We don’t have this green cap version! Only the pink and blue version – the pink is regular and the blue is for waterproof makeup (and it’s got an oily layer just like eye makeup remover). I’m going to buy the pink cap one to try out – so many raves for it!

    1. Clarina says:

Oh I’ve not ever seen blue! Sounds like it would perhaps be too greasy for my skin. But there have been endless good comments on the pink cap 🙂

  5. Chanelle says:

I love this micellar water! It’s the only one I’ve tried so far but I really like how it performs 🙂 I have the pink lid but if I see the green lid I’d be keen to try that too xx

    1. Clarina says:

I’m glad you like it! The green is for people with more oily and sensitive skin. It’s meant to help mattify 🙂 I love it xx

      1. Chanelle says:

My skin is a lot more oily than it used to be but it’s still dry, it’s weird x

        1. Clarina says:

Sounds like it would be perfect for you then! It says for Combination skin whereas the pink is for people that don’t produce any oil. Xx

  6. Fiona Yee says:

I have sensitive skin too! I wish they have this in Australia, at the moment they only have the original one. Love the post! x

    1. Clarina says:

Thank you! That’s such a shame. Hopefully they’ll bring it over to you soon! Xx

  7. Great review. I’ve been putting off trying this mainly because I’m worried about it irritating my skin, however after reading this I’m really tempted to. I wouldn’t use it as my main cleanser as my skin needs a really deep clean, however it sounds like it’s great for removing make up x

    1. Clarina says:

Thank you! I would highly recommend the same one I have to you – and not the original pink version. I am so sensitive and most products affect me in someway but this absolutely hasn’t 🙂 I only like to use this to remove makeup and cleanse when I’m feeling extra lazy. Otherwise I do prefer to wash my face. Give it a try! Xx

      1. Haha yes I know the feeling! I’m sure I would get very lazy with this too. I think I will 🙂
