Origins Skin Refining Oil | Review

This product has been staring at me on the counter at Boots screaming “buy me” for months now, but the price tag has always put me off. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever spent so much on a single skincare item. I eventually decided to take the plunge and as expected haven’t put it down since (this means it will just have to be repurchased for the rest of my life). Shall we see why I love it so much?

+ Best for renewal and radiance
+ For all skin types
+ Active ingredient: Orange
+ Dark orange coloured liquid

Use the (very easy and hazard-free) applicator to squeeze two drops of oil out straight onto your palm or mix in with your favourite nighttime moisturiser. It’s recommended this product is applied straight before bed time, but there’s nothing to stop you using it more often. If you’re naturally very dry, i’d recommend mixing a couple of drops into your everyday foundation. This way, you’ll stay hydrated all day long, plus it makes your foundation go further.

The Perfect Match | Origins GinZing Moisturiser & Eye Cream
There is sooo much product packed into the small glass jar, enough to last months if not years. I love this oil because a little goes such a long way. The cocktail of goodness, including Neroli, Valerian and Vanilla aromas, help drift you into a deep sleep whilst it works it magic. Radiance is restored and my skin feels a lot more hydrated the next morning. I familiarise the scent of this product with a spa, but it’s only very subtle. I often avoid products with a harsh smell, because they don’t always agree with me.

Despite being oily (and avoiding oils my whole life for that reason), this product works well with my über sensitive (and rather needy) skin type; it isn’t sticky or greasy, and absorbs quickly. I mentioned it in my Feburary Beauty Favourites, and how since regularly moisturising, my skin has naturally become dryer which is a huge breakthrough for me. If you are oily, you’ll find that moisturisers and oils actually help your skin to produce less oil, because it’s getting it from the products. It’s a strange one to comprehend at first but it does sort of make sense.

This is definitely a more luxurious product but is totally worth it. We’re allowed to splash out occasionally aren’t we? So ladies, are you tempted to run out and buy a bottle? Or have you used it before?

The Perfect Match | Origins GinZing Moisturiser & Eye Cream
+ Absorbs quickly
+ Isn’t sticky or tacky
+ Isn’t greasy
+ Subtle, calming scent

+ Handy applicator that doesn’t waste product
+ For all skin types
+ A little goes a long way
+ Very luxurious
+ Available to anyone, anywhere in the world

+ Hefty price tag

The Perfect Match | Origins GinZing Moisturiser & Eye Cream
9/10. The product and packaging are perfect, it’s a shame about the price!

I’ve not heard of this but now I’m curious! I’m a facial oil fiend. And you’re right – they last FOREVER. The initial price tag seems high but totally worth it. Have you ever tried the facial oils from Clarins? They’re quite nice too.

Origins have two facial oils, this one and a slightly more expensive one for more mature skin! You should give it a go – I’ve fallen in love 🙂 The price tag does seem high at first yes! But like you said they last forever 🙂 I’ve not tried Clarins. A few people have mentioned them, I should run along and get a few samples maybe!
