Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask | Review

Oh my gosh, I’ve been desperate to talk to you about this product. Are you looking for a skin changer? Make this it. Let’s chat about Origins number one bestselling face mask – the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. It’s like no other product I have ever owned. It’s so unique, from consistency to application but it really does work. Did you see my January Favourites? I mentioned it in that.

Let’s whizz through some important deets…
+ Best for dry skin types
+ Best for rehydration & repair
+ £23 for 100ml (full size) bottle

“Origins Drink Up™ Intensive Mask makes skin feel smoother and hydrated. Skin depends on water for its youthful functioning. But all day long, skin loses vital moisture. And the busier you are, the more it loses. This intense moisture replacement mask deeply quenches compromised moisture reserves and builds a reservoir for tomorrow. Japanese Seaweed repairs skin’s barrier to prevent future dehydration and signs of premature ageing.”

The Perfect Match | Origins GinZing Moisturiser & Eye Cream
“Twice a week or as desired, gently massage onto clean skin at bedtime. Tissue off excess.”

The Perfect Match | Origins GinZing Moisturiser & Eye Cream

I had never used an overnight mask before this product. I was a little apprehensive about letting it sit on my skin for hours whilst I sleep, I half expected to wake up with a reaction. However, this product doesn’t feel like a standard facial mask. It’s not heavy or oily and doesn’t change in consistency when it’s applied onto the skin. It definitely just feels like an intense moisturiser. I also love it because it doesn’t need to be applied regularly, I’d say the recommended two days a week is plenty. This product claims to be for very dry skin types, yet I’m oily, and it works wonders for my skin. People with dryer skin may find they have to use the product more often to achieve the desired effects.

The product comes in a sleek green plastic tube, which protects the antioxidant ingredients from excess exposure to the air sunlight. Mine was actually part of a gift set which is why it’s a tad smaller than the standard 100ml size.

A little bit really does go a long way (as I kept repeating for what felt like every product in my January favourites video). I apply a pea sized amount all over my face and it provides more than enough coverage. I find that most high-end skincare products really do have the lasting power which does make up for the hefty price tag they come with.

My skin has never felt so soft and nourished since using this overnight mask. It’s almost like my skin is thirsty for it; it’s something I’m just going to have to repurchase.

Have you tried this face mask? What do you think?

The Perfect Match | Origins GinZing Moisturiser & Eye Cream
9.5/10. The reason I’m not giving this product full marks is because of the slightly steep price tag. I cannot fault the actual product.

      It’s amazing stuff!

      1. You make me spend WAY too much money on the items you review! ha ha Just kidding. But I would really like to try this soon!

        1. Clarina says:

          Haha I’m sorry! 🙂

  1. Thanks so much for reviewing this! I’ve been curious and I’m a fan of Origin’s Charcoal mask. I guess I’m going to have to buy this one!

    1. Clarina says:

I’m glad you found it helpful! I was considering the Origin’s Charcoal mask, it’s great for oily and acne prone skin. That and this are two completely different products but my skin LOVES this! Plus, I use the Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Charcoal Facial Scrub and it’s basically the same thing 🙂

      1. I’ve not tried the Boots product. My skin is oily and acne prone, but occasionally in winter, it needs the moisture boost. I usually switch to a heavier moisturizer in winter too. It all depends on what the weather is doing.

        1. Clarina says:

It sounds like you need both! My skin changes depending on the weather too. If i’m suffering with breakouts, I use Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions or the Boots Tea Tree, they both work wonders. My favourite moisturiser at the moment in Clinique Moisture Surge 🙂

          1. I think so too. I’ve never used Clinique skin care products. I’ll check them out the next time I’m at the mall. Thanks for sharing!

          2. Clarina says:

You should! 🙂 I’ve always enjoyed using them. Xx

    1. Clarina says:

      Thank you lovely! Xx

    1. Clarina says:

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it x

  2. You’ve read my mind with this post! This is exactly what my skin needs right now. I’ll definitely be popping by to try and get a few samples xx

    1. Clarina says:

I’m so pleased! I can’t get enough of this product. I think Origins are always generous when it comes to samples too 🙂 You could even get it in miniature like I did – it’s amazing how well it’s lasted.

  3. driftinglexi says:

Ooh I wonder how this compares to the Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask!

    1. Clarina says:

Good point actually! I love the Moisture Surge moisturiser but never tried their overnight mask. I’m guessing the Clinique is a tad more pricey? I want to try it now! Haha 🙂

      1. driftinglexi says:

Yeah, it’s £30 for 100 ml! I bought the moisturiser, mask and eye cream as a part of a gift set so the latter two were basically free. I’ve started using lots of different things skincare and makeup wise around the same time though so I don’t know which product I’m using is most effective, I just know my skin feels great! 😂

        1. Clarina says:

£7 more than the Origins then! Haha I always do that – start using lots of new products all at once then unsure of which is actually making a difference! You have intrigued me and I want to try it 🙂

          1. driftinglexi says:

Haha! If you do you’ll have to let me know which you prefer! :’)

  4. I want to try this little goodie so much too! 🙂 lovely review, do you know if they sell them in smaller sized to try? xxx

    1. Clarina says:

Thank you. You should try it! Origins are quite good at providing the smaller sized ones. I got mine in a bundle for £25 including two others of the same size and the full sized Gin-Zing Moisturiser. It was an amazing deal that I see them repeating every now and then 🙂 But I’m sure if you approached the counter and asked they could help you out with something. Xxx

  5. I’ve heard lots of good things about this mask, and I think I’ll have to try it sometime as I’m always looking for good masks to use on my super dry skin! Thanks for the review 🙂

    1. Clarina says:

Yes! I mean, of course i’d recommend it 🙂 You could get it in miniature if you’re not 100% sure you want to take the plunge.

  6. I know it is a great product but little bit pricey though

    1. Clarina says:

Yeah a little pricey. That’s the only down side :/ this little pot has lasted me weeks though and there seems to be a lot left in there 🙂

  7. Jani V says:

Fabulous review, I am an Origins fan/junkie so i will definitely ask for a sample to try out next time I repurchase my moisturizer!!

  8. Lauren says:

Fab review Claire! I’ve got a little mini sample of this and I really like it too! It is so good for dehydrated skin and essentially to give your skin a drink of hydration!

    1. Clarina says:

Thank you Lauren! I’m glad you really like it. My skin is obsessed with it! Xx

      1. Lauren says:

        No bother! Mine too!
