Care Less to Care More | You Look Disgusting!

Hey everyone.

I don’t usually film mid week but I had to make an exception for this.

The lovely Maybe Bach nominated me to do a post and a video based on the recently famous ‘You Look Disgusting’ video. It has almost reached 13 million views in 1 month and it’s one of the most powerful videos I have ever seen.

If you aren’t aware of what this video is about, a beauty blogger decided to remove all of her makeup for a period of time and the comments she received were shocking. Watch it below.

The video projects such a strong and heartbreaking message to people all over the world who perhaps feel self-conscious about their appearance and how other people bully them for it.

People feel better when they have a face full of makeup, it’s true; but we shouldn’t use it as a mask to hide behind.

Caitlyn Jenner’s recent speech at the ESPYS Awards was so inspirational and moving, the message was similar to that of ‘You Look Disgusting’; it also prompted me to do this.

I created this video to support the idea of people being less judgemental towards others. I am going to embrace my self-confidence by wiping this face full of thick makeup off right before your eyes.

Music: Heart Break by Vibe Tracks from YouTube Audio Library.

It would be amazing if we could get more bloggers to do the same.

Therefore, I tag these following people to continue this on, even if you just write a blog post – it doesn’t have to be a video.

Thank you so much for reading and watching!

I love the message you are trying to spread and you look pretty no matter what your wearing on your face.

    1. Thank you so much. Everyone’s beautiful x

  7. Icy Sedgwick says:

I’m in two minds about this because I’ve been called “fake” for wearing a lot of make up but for me, it’s not about self confidence, it’s about self expression. Other people express themselves through clothes, tattoos, piercings etc., I choose make up. So if I made a point of taking my make up off, I’d really just be denying myself to keep the people happy who call me fake, if that makes sense? So leaving mine on is weirdly a greater act of defiance!

    1. I completely agree with you there! If you choose to express yourself through makeup then that’s amazing too. I think as long as people aren’t followers, but individual then that’s the main message I was trying to get across 🙂

      1. Icy Sedgwick says:

It’s just such a shame that folk can’t let other folk alone!

  8. Dora says:

This was such an incredible post and video, Claire! Super brave, as well, as I know that since we have beauty blogs/channels, it must’ve been not so easy to do this.
    Loved this so much!
And you look so beautiful without makeup!

I will deffinitely be continuing this on, in a form of a post.

It’s such an important message and I think it’s super important to feel comfortable in your own skin, without makeup.
Like you said, it should be used to enhance features, not as a mask.

Thanks so much for nominating me and again, such a lovely post! 🙂

    xx

    1. Thank you so much for your lovely response! I was nominated to do this and I watched the video and it touched me so much that I just had to do it!

Thank you so much for watching – I can’t wait to see your take on it.

      Xxx
