My All Time Beauty Favourites
Below is a selection of my most purchased products EVER. There’s quite a few but I simply can’t and don’t live without them. A bit of background information on my skin so you understand my reasoning for loving them – i’m very oily and it’s hard to control, in fact it’s impossible to control without some of these products.
Here are my most loved hair, body and makeup products with a few extras.
Bedhead Shampoo and Conditioner in LARGE literally lasts me for one whole year. I ask for a new set for my birthday every year. This particular one is ‘Epic Volume’ because i’m always looking to have thick hair with a bounce to it. It’s so thick in consistency and has a shimmer to it.
This is an odd secret of mine for you. I exfoliate my face and body with Fruit Sugar mixed with water or shower gel. It’s so cheap and works the same as shop bought body and facial scrubs.
A simple product but an essential. I used Advanced Whitening toothpaste to keep my teeth white and healthy.
A cheapy! This genius Shampoo is from………. Lidl. I think it’s £1.99 but it’s almost up there with my Bedhead. The only problem is that it’s quite runny so it doesn’t last very long.
You should always have a good heat protector.
Clinique’s anti-blemish solutions face mask is amazing. It keeps my skin baby soft and prevents blemishes. When you apply it, it seems to soak all of the access oil up.
I tend to flick between cleaners but when my skin’s good I tend to use this Clinique foaming cleanser. It has a shimmer to it so leaves your face feeling fresh and illuminated.
This body cream paired with my Juicy Couture perfume is BEAUTIFUL. It’s fresh, buttery and light.
When I have an emergency breakout I apply this directly onto the blemish before bed and then after washing my face every morning. I apply the gel again before putting my makeup on.
YESSS best hairspray of all time. After I’ve shampooed and conditioned my hair with my Bedhead, I will style my hair and finish it with this Beadhead Hard Head spray. It holds my hair all night and doesn’t go sticky.
My Bobby Brown shimmer brick gives me life. It’s on the pricey side at £30 but I got mine in the Selfridges 10% off everything sale and it is meant to last an absolute lifetime. I apply it on the high points of my face and it’s the last thing I do in my routine. There are 3 different colour options. I’m very pale so I went for the pearly pinks.
This Maybelline Gel eyeliner is the bomb. It’s £7.99 so not too expensive and is best applied with an angled eye brush. It’s so black and doesn’t smudge.
OK. I am yet to discover a foundation as good as this one. Clinique’s anti blemish solutions foundation is long lasting, medium-full coverage and perfect for people with oily skin. If you’re dry, this will make you dryer.
Glitter! Every makeup collection needs glitter and this is my favourite for the simple reason that it’s easy to apply and silver goes with most eye makeup looks.
My contour brush is from ecotools. I discovered them on Amazon and the reviews were so good I had to have one. It’s very big for contouring so I use it more to bronze with but it’s sooooo soft and luxurious.
More glitter! This is Mac pigment in Rose Gold. It’s gorgeous paired with other pink shadows just for an extra pop of something special. Apply with primer or eyelid glitter glue.
As you can see my brush has been through some trauma recently. I had a massive disaster with it due to a cleaning incident which has caused the bristles to come loose. I basically put the whole brush into hot water to soak for a ‘deep clean’ but it melted the glue inside. Despite of that, it is the best foundation brush I have ever used. I could talk about this forever. It apply’s the foundation lightly, smoothly and evenly. It’s a F80 flattop Kabuki from Sigma which is a company based in America but I got mine from Amazon.
Mac Prolong Wear Concealer is the only thing you need in your life. It doesn’t crease so it’s great for applying below the eyes and has a highlight to it as well. I also use it a a primer for my eyeshadow.
A lipgloss essential – Clinique Superbalm Moisturising Gloss. It isn’t sticky and it’s a gorgeous light colour that basically all skin tones can wear.
Clinique High Impact mascara (I know I may seem slightly Clinique obsessed but I get most of their stuff for free with their Bonus Time). This mascara is the only one that I’ve ever worn that makes my eyelashes looking like falsies.
Shadows are probably my favourite type of makeup. They are so fun and after discovering Makeup Geek (yet again another American Company – sorry!) I have become obsessed. I created this palette of 12 shadows based on reviews that i’d seen on the Makeup Geek shadows.
My Juicy Couture Perfume. It’s light, fresh and gorgeous for daytime or nighttime.
Everyone loves a good old Vampire lipstick. This one from Mac in the shade Amplified Tribalist. It’s a brave shade to wear but pair it with a black smokey eye for a night out or date look.
I need the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions 3 Step routine in my life. It is my saviour. It has controlled my breakouts and prevents me becoming oily during the day.
This one is the foam cleanser which I apply first. The one below is a toner which I apply on a cotton wool pad all over my face afterwards. Careful not to soak the pad too much or it will dry your face out too much. Then I use the Anti Blemish Solutions moisturiser to complete the process. I do this every night.
I buy the Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions 3 pack and foundation when Clinique have their Bonus Time on. Because I am buying a skincare product and a piece of makeup during their Bonus Time, I get around 6 freebees typically including a lipstick, mascara, eyeshadow, lip balm, blusher and eye cream. Debenhams, Harvey Nichols, Boots and House of Fraser all have Clinique Bonus Time opportunities throughout the year.
